Moisturize and nourish

Moisturising and nourishing the skin are two distinct actions that can often be confused. Dry skin needs nourishment, while dehydrated skin needs hydration.

Moisturising substances are already present in the skin: cosmetics in general therefore have the function of drawing out the water which is present in the deeper tissues and which is waiting to be used. The principle of nourishment, on the other hand, is different, as it is based on totally different ingredients.

The term nourishing specifically refers to the process of restoring the lipid film to the skin, and thus providing it with oily or buttery ingredients, ideal for dry or mature skin.
